Diploma in Bodies Eroticisms and Sexualities

 

 

 

GENERAL AIM:
To contribute to the generation of a holistic feminist culture which begins from a transformative reflection about bodies, eroticism and sexualities as the basis for both human oppression and emancipation.
SPECIFIC AIM:
• To continue the diploma in “Bodies, eroticism and sexualities: the transformation of our stories” as an academic exercise that articulates theoretical-conceptual reflection with transformative processes in the personal, relational and social experience of the participants.
• To contribute to the creation of feminist training spaces in Guatemala that begin with the analysis of sexuality to understand the structural problems that generate gender inequality and the appropriation of methods for overcoming this oppression.
• To elucidate the relationships between gender oppression, racism and classism throughout the process to be able to recognize them in the bodily experience.

FACE-TO-FACE METHODOLOGY:
This diploma course lasts 14 months, with two monthly sessions (Saturday and Sunday, eight hours each day), starting at 9:00 am and ending at 5:00 pm. There is also a virtual get-together one Saturday per month, which is self-managed by the participants and accompanied by the coordinator from Q’anil’s Training Program. From Module V onwards, this virtual space becomes a space for accompanying the completion of the autoethnographic writing assignment.
The process consists of three aspects, which involve a perfect integration between the conceptual and the experiential:
a) Conceptualization/Theory b) Reencounter Therapy, and c) Somatic practice. These are continued throughout the duration of the diploma.

Participation: Anyone interested in deepening their understanding this regard. An openness and willingness to engage in conceptual work and personal healing are required. This course is aimed at adults, students, professionals, women’s organizations, LGBTQI+ population, feminists and therapists interested in complex training from a holistic perspective.
Requirements: to have completed second level education, voluntary participation, attendance throughout the process. Willingness to reflect on sexuality and to process/heal personal emotional wounds.
